About Us

Welcome to Cabarlah Pony Club!

Situated at the Cabarlah Sports Grounds,

PIC QFTW1268

9864 New England Hwy, Cabarlah, (nearest crossroad is Shostaki Rd), we hold a rally on the first Sunday of every month, weather permitting. If you are interested in our club, please feel free to come to a rally, or contact the club secretary on cabarlah@pcaq.asn.au.

Our rallies are on the first Sunday of each month. We are part of Pony Club Association of  Queensland (PCAQ)  We are an Association through the Queensland Office of Fair Trading  and have a volunteer Management Committee.. You can also email us at cabarlah@pcaq.asn.au , or mail: PO Box 269, Highfields, Qld, 4352.

Parents play an important role at Pony Club. Parents not only support their children and make horse riding possible, but they support the club by assisting at rallies, volunteering at events, donating to fundraisers, and forming the club committee without which the club can't exist.

We are often asked if we can provide ponies for newcomers to ride. Whilst we welcome interested people to come visit us during a rally, we are unable to provide horses or equipment for riders.

"Horse Rider in the Sky" by Alan Doulin

Half close your eyes and look at clouds

What shapes within their mists and shrouds

A horse I see ?  -  or maybe not

Its going at a steady trot

I look again and now I spy

that horse so clear up in the sky

But wait  -  I see upon the hack

A rider  -  did she wave right back ?

The horse keeps going mile on mile

The riders’ happy  -  see her smile

The clouds they swirl up and beyond

Horse and rider   -    here  ..... then gone

I look again  -  a change of scene

the rider’s tired but looks serene

A stable looms up right ahead

Its really just an old tin shed

The horse is at the stable door

The rider quiet  -  her journey o'er

The ride was long and hard  -  some test

but now its over   -  time to rest

The horse is happy,   munching hay

the rider lies and soon she may

drift off to sleep with no more pain

and we'll not see her here again.

But wait  -  she has not really gone

her memory still will linger on

Of all she did for me and you

and us and them and those folk too.

Each day we'll check the clouds above

they will remind us of her love

The riders gone  -  but she's still here

Just watch that cloud  -  she'll re-appear
